A Little Update...

Hello Reader, If you've been reading my newsletters for a while, you may notice a few changes over the coming weeks. Nothing dramatic, but I've been spending some time thinking about how everything fits together, and I've decided to bring it all under one name: Gift Wrapping Made Easy™ It's already the name of my Signature In-Person Gift Wrapping Class, my free Quick Start Guide, and my new LinkedIn Newsletter (first edition will be published on Wednesday, 22 July), so it felt like the...

Hello Reader, Your first edition of Gift Wrapping Made Easy™ is here! Every couple of weeks, I'll share a practical idea, simple technique, or finishing touch to help you wrap gifts with more confidence and a little extra creativity, along with a few behind-the-scenes stories from Wrapping HQ (including the bloopers 😂).I hope you enjoy it! ☺️ This week, I've been experimenting with one of my favourite gift wrapping materials...reversible wrapping paper. Rather than hiding the reverse side, I...

Hello Reader, If you're new to this newsletter, welcome...👋Every week, I share gift wrapping tips, behind-the-scenes updates and the occasional glimpse into life as a professional gift wrapper. You may think that running a gift wrapping business is all gorgeous wrapping paper, creating beautiful bows, piles of gifts and delivering training, classes and events... And sometimes it is. But the reality is often much more ordinary. This week, my to-do list included: Following up on class proposals...

Hello Reader, First of all, a warm welcome to everyone who has recently joined the newsletter. It's lovely to have you here. For those of you who are new, I'm Lou, a gift wrapping trainer, speaker and self-confessed ribbon enthusiast who helps people wrap gifts beautifully with confidence and less stress 🎀 On Monday, meteorological summer officially arrived...unfortunately, nobody seems to have told the weather. Here in County Durham, it has felt more like autumn than summer at times, with...

Hello Reader, Before we get onto this week’s update, a quick welcome if you're new to my newsletter 👋 Hope you all survived the heat 🥵 I loved it, but it did mean I didn't get round to all the gift wrapping projects I'd planned with my latest wrapping paper haul... Each week, I share tips, behind-the-scenes moments, updates on classes, what’s new, or sometimes just what’s going on in my corner of the gift wrapping world. Yesterday, I asked a simple question on Instagram: How many gift...

Hello Reader, Before we get onto this week’s update, a quick welcome if you're new to my newsletter 👋 Each week, I share tips, behind-the-scenes moments, updates on classes, what’s new, or sometimes just what’s going on in my corner of the gift wrapping world. This week, I invested in some new gift wrap and ribbons ready for the summer season… and honestly, I’ve been ridiculously excited for them to arrive - and they landed early! Sneak peek below 🫣 I can already picture my husband rolling...

Hello Reader, So… it may not even feel like summer has arrived yet (although there’s a rumour of a heatwave next week ☀️)… but Christmas planning has quietly started behind the scenes here 🎄 Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve had more people joining the priority list for my festive workshops, an invitation to collaborate on an online Christmas event later this year, and even an enquiry about running a class at a rather lovely country house in November. And honestly? It’s always around this...

Hello Reader, One of the things I hear most often in my gift wrapping workshops is: “I’m terrible at wrapping.” Closely followed by: “I never know how much paper to use.” and “Mine never looks neat enough.” The funny thing is, most people aren’t actually “bad” at gift wrapping at all. They’ve just never been shown a few simple techniques that make the whole process feel easier, neater and far less frustrating. In fact, there’s usually a moment during every workshop where someone suddenly...

Hello Reader, I hope you’ve had a good week and are looking forward to the first Bank Holiday of the month. I could get used to a four day week! We’ve had some beautiful weather the last few days, and it’s definitely starting to feel like we’re moving into summer. Very early light mornings, brighter days, and that lovely shift towards summer occasions. It also got me thinking about gift wrapping at this time of year. A lot of people naturally associate gift wrapping with Christmas, but some...

Hello Reader, If you've been a subscriber to my newsletter for a while, you'll know that one of the things I always say when it comes to gift wrapping is use what you already have. I usually remind you all about this around November/December time, in the run up to the busy festive period. Beautiful wrapping doesn’t have to mean buying more, although I know how tempting it is (see last week’s newsletter on that one!). Some of my favourite combinations come from things I already have at home…...
